How does the 30-day free trial work?
When you sign up for Indostra, we provision an isolated sandbox environment representing your restaurant tenant. You have full access to all backend capabilities—creating venues, adding menu items, establishing staff roles, and testing live QR codes. No credit card is required to start, and you can transition your sandbox data to active operations at any point.
What hardware is required to run Indostra?
Indostra is cloud-native and hardware-agnostic. The admin dashboard and waiter billing interface operate inside any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Android, or iOS. For KOT ticket printing, our software supports standard desktop and mobile thermal receipt printers that communicate via ESC/POS protocol over Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or Bluetooth.
Can we separate GST and State Excise on a single bill?
Yes. Indostra supports dynamic tax groups at the item category level. You can configure food items to attract standard 5% GST without input tax credit (ITC) and map your bar or alcohol catalog to state-specific excise lines. The billing engine calculates the taxes dynamically and prints them as distinct, itemized lines for transparent auditing.
How does multi-venue data isolation work?
We use a watertight security model called role-scoped data isolation. In multi-venue restaurants or chains, staff members are explicitly assigned to specific venues. The backend validates every data request (e.g., reading menus, firing orders, generating bills) using a strict server-side guard. If a user attempts to access or query a venue that is not explicitly assigned to them, the system rejects the request immediately with a 403 Forbidden.
